On behalf of The City University Construction Fund (CUCF), Epic Management, Inc., acting as Construction Manager, is soliciting the services of a General Contractor to provide all labor, material, and equipment necessary for the renovation and new construction of two existing data centers and related work for the migration of IT equipment located at two CUNY-leased buildings in Manhattan. Work to is to be completed in two phases and include but not be limited to temporary phasing work and temporary utilities, hazardous materials abatement, demolition of existing spaces, new roofing, structural steel, HVAC systems, plumbing work, emergency generator work, hoisting and rigging, computer room flooring, computer room cabinets, casework, partitions, walls, doors, frames, hardware, electrical modifications, information technology and communications wiring, IT equipment installation and transportation, and finishes as required by the plans and specifications.
There is a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) for this project. The successful Bidder and all Sub-Bidders and future Subcontractors, of all subcontracting tiers, will be required to execute a Letter of Assent for the PLA. A copy of the PLA is included as Book 2 with the Bid documents.
Bidders will be required to submit all required bid forms (forms included in Project Manual); including, but not limited to: proof of bonding capacity; project list confirming the company has satisfactorily completed a minimum of three (3) publicly-funded New York City building construction and/or building renovation projects in the seven (7) years prior to the Bid Opening, each in excess of $12 million, as a General Contractor which self-performed at least 5% of the Work on the referenced projects as defined within the Instructions to Bidders and Bid documents; proof of insurance; Bid Bond; Experience Modification Rate for past three (3) years prior to Bid opening. Subcontractor participation and/or Joint venture experience is not acceptable. The successful Bidder will be required to retain specialty subcontractors and identify certain proposed Sub-Bidders with their Bid. Proposed Sub-Bidders for Electrical Wiring and Standard Illuminating Fixtures must have prior successful data center experience with data centers, as defined pursuant to the Instructions to Bidders, having a minimum of 5,000 Sq. Ft. and 100 cabinets and dual module uninterruptible power supply systems and hold current Panduit certifications required for this project.
The successful Bidder will also be required to demonstrate the 5% minimum trade self-performance requirements for this project.
The MBE participation requirement for this project is 18%; the WBE participation requirement is 12%.
